Terracotta Pots and Fruit Salad Trees

Terracotta Pots and Fruit Salad Trees

There is no doubt that terracotta pots have a certain romantic beauty that can’t be replicated by plastic. However, due to their porosity, they do lose significant amounts of water, especially when they are in full summer sun – precisely where your Fruit Salad Tree should be. Plants planted in terracotta pots dry out quickly and therefore require frequent watering. A solution to this is sealing the pot inside, or outside, or even both with a penetrating sealer such as stone sealer or pond sealer. Alternatively liquid rubber or even low toxicity paint will do the trick too.

Here at Fruit Salad Trees, we stock a wide range of fruit trees, which all boast different fruit on the same tree. Each fruit variety retains its own flavour, appearance and ripening time. We graft citrus, stonefruit and multi-apple trees.

Our fast fruiting trees can be grown in the ground, or in pots on your balcony.
